Five minutes of prep turns your call into a technician-ready brief. Gather what you can — but don't delay calling over any of it.
- The brand and model number — on a sticker inside the fresh-food section (snap a photo; it's faster than reading it aloud).
- A one-sentence symptom — "fridge warm, freezer fine," "ice maker stopped," "water under the deli drawer."
- Where the unit sits — kitchen, garage, basement, or outbuilding. Placement changes diagnosis options.
- How long it's been happening — sudden this morning vs. getting worse over weeks tells us a lot.
- Photos of anything visible — frost patterns, standing water, or display codes are worth a thousand words.
